Phrase Of The Day “Progress Over Perfection”
When most hear the phrase “progress over perfection”, they quickly visualize getting better in a particular area of life.
When some hear the phrase “progress over perfection”, they sometimes think of growth toward a desired goal.
Others, on the other hand, are worried that their brains may be driven to perfectionism once more, paralyzing them.
When I hear the phrase “progress over perfection,” I think of another OPPORTUNITY to embrace the process as a vehicle for growth in my life.
Here are my thoughts on the phrase “progress over perfection” as it applies to leaving an enduring legacy, especially if you want to get a good balance between connecting with loved ones, business, and your passions:
- Each time you aim towards your goal, you create space to get better and better
- It’s another chance to step up to the plate and swing with all you’ve got.
- It’s one more main event where you can show up and deliver.
- Now, you don’t have to be perfect. You can grow as you go.
- And it’s fine if the road has some pain since there are so many golden nuggets to be learned there.
Here’s a big benefit:
While society preaches “you need to be perfect”, with developing the right mindset to strive for progress along with determined effort in your vehicle of process, you can find your own balance and knock your goals out of the park.
And you can feel proud at the end of the day.
Here’s how we all can apply this to life -
- Write down a goal. You can even choose a desired one that you’ve recently given up on.
- Write down the action steps you need to take.
- Ask yourself the question, “within this goal, where are my unrealistic expectations to be perfect?”
- Develop a growth mindset.
- Take off towards the road to progress.
